AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE PLATTER
T. and R. Boote Potteries
Tunstall, Staffordshire England c. 1883
This large Victorian aesthetic 14 1/2 " long x 10 5/8 " wide platter is transfer printed in dark brown. Transfer printed on the vertical. The clear and crisp YOSEMITE pattern features a lovely country village with a dominant church with steeple. Surrounding the scene is a large cherry tree in full bloom. Extravagantly asymmetric geometrical cartouches finish this superb platter.
The pattern displays the Victorian eras love of nature and travel to exotic lands.
Condition is great. Clean and bright with no chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. A small natural kiln stilt flake along the edge.
