Antique Child's Tin Whistle and Rattle 1860

VERY EARLY CHILDS TIN RATTLE and WHISTLE

c 1860

This fabulous very old tin rattle and whistle is superb. During the mid 1800's these were a common rattle and whistle toy.

The rattle is embellished with four impressed line designs around the barrel drum. The rattle still rings well with the original seeds or pellets inside. A remarkable piece of American history ! Whistle works too.

This example has survived in very good condition with no bending.
