Civil War Child's Tin Whistle Rattle 1860

VERY EARLY CHILDS TIN ABC RATTLE

CIVIL WAR ERA ~ c 1860

This fabulous very old tin rattle and whistle is superb. During the mid 1800's these were a common rattle and whistle toy. 5 1/4 inches long.

The rattle is embellished with rolled designs around the barrel drum. The rattle still rings well with the original seeds or pellets inside. A remarkable piece of American history !

This example has survived in great condition with no bending.
