VICTORIAN AESTHETIC MOVEMENT ERA BLACK TRANSFERWARE POT LID
COLD CREAM
Made in the Staffordshire Region of England
c. 1880
This Victorian 2 1/2 " wide x 1 3/8 " tall covered ceramic earthenware container was made during Victorian times and contained one part wax and four parts rose oil. Some creative Chemists would add whale sperm, borax, almond oil or the popular Otto of Roses. A very attractive pot with a melting transfer.
The piece is in good condition save for a couple of large chips to the base. Displays beautifully.
