This is a late 19th century ironstone PURE BUTTER display advertising stand with a rare impressed mark Wedgwood. Originally used for displaying butter and other dairy products on the grocer’s shop counter. It measures 14 1/4” across and 2 1/2” tall and has a center well.
The decorative advertising is printed in black and reads PURE BUTTER. The stand was meant for grocer trade use and easily adaptable to a country kitchen or a contemporary cheese and wine shop.
Great condition without any knife marks, possibly never used. There is a small ding area above the letter P.
