This mid- 20th century stoneware Butter pot is 5 1/2” across and 4 1/2” tall and has a well fitting lid with finial and vent hole. The decorative advertising is transfer-printed in black and underneath the glaze and reads ‘BUTTER’.
The butter tub is in great condition except for a small chip to the underside of one of the handles.
Very popular with the American market today although probably made for the English trade.
