This early Victorian large 10 3/8 inch plate is overglaze transfer printed using a new patented process using wax and copper. A partridge flies over a field with butterflies.
The painter was Edward Kennard and made for the London retailer John Mortlock. Exhibited at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition 1876.
Never Used and in Great condition.
