Rare NANTASKET Large Water Pitcher ~ SEASHELLS 1876
AESTHETIC BLACK TRANSFERWARE TALL WATER PITCHER
NANTASKET / CLOVELLY PATTERN
Ridgway, Sparkes & Ridgway Potteries
Staffordshire England c. 1876
This large and tall Victorian 5 1/2 " wide x 9 1/2 ” tall tall water jug pitcher is transfer printed in black against a creamy white background. Very rare to find this shape and the largest made in this pattern.
The pattern features a marine border of Seashells and Seaweed hooked together by strands of pearls. A variety of seashells with sprigs of seaweed are the main attraction, both sides. Stunning pattern.
Probably never used and in great condition.
