Super Brown Transferware Bacon Platter ~ SEAWEED 1883

OUTSTANDING BROWN TRANSFERWARE BACON MEAT PLATTER

SEAWEED PATTERN

Josiah Wedgwood and Sons

Staffordshire England

1883

This rare size Victorian 10 3/4 " long x 8 3/4 " wide bacon platter is transfer printed in dark brown. The form is a meat platter and is deeper than most in order to catch the juices.

The pattern, a very dark brown and one of the best we have seen, features a variety of large ocean seaweed drifting around the rim and the well of this large platter.  A very desirable and collectable pattern.  One of the very best patterns.

Condition is great, clean shiny and bright.  No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs.
