Superb Wedgwood Covered Rare Round Tureen ~ SEAWEED 1883

SUPERB BROWN TRANSFERWARE TUREEN or COVERED VEGETABLE

ROUND SEAWEED PATTERN

Josiah Wedgwood and Sons

Staffordshire England

1883

This Victorian 4 “ tall x 9 3/4 " wide , including ornate handles, serving piece is transfer printed in brown.  The pattern features a variety of ocean seaweed drifting around the lid, base and incredible handles.  Rarely do we see this pattern especially in this rare shape and great condition.  Many consider this the very best in Victorian transferware.

Condition is very good with chipping to the base foot rim.
