This Victorian 6 " x 6 "tile is transfer printed in blue against an off white background showing good detail and good contrast.
The Aesthetic Movement center tile shows a young couple at rest while making hay. It is one of a series of seasonal scenes depicting the 12 months of the year, designed in the 1880s by Helen Miles. The images of the months were produced by Wedgwood in the Staffordshire region of England.
Never Used. Great condition with a few tiny glaze flakes around the edges. This spectacular tile with naturalistic imagery is a stunning addition to any collection of seasons and months series transferware images of country life.
