This is a rare stunning early transferware centerpiece fruit bowl, 12 1/2 inches long x 9 inches wide x 3 3/4 inches tall.. Transfer printed in rich blue with a white ivoryware earthenware pottery typical of the Josiah Wedgwood factory in the Staffordshire potting district of England. Decorated with a lush kaleidoscopic botanical image of peony flowers. The peonies are interwoven can converge in the center.
The piece is in good condition with an almost invisible stable hairline off the rim. Doubt there are many still around after 150 years in this lovely pattern.
