6 ~ AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE CONDIMENT DISHES
DAFFODIL PATTERN
W. H. Grindley and Co. Potteries
Tunstall, Staffordshire England
c. 1882
These Victorian 4 5/8 " square condiment trays are transfer printed in dark chocolate brown.
The pattern features repeating vignettes of luscious Daffodils. Oversized daffodils grace the well of the dishes with a landscape scene of a young boy watching a sailing vessel rounding a castle.
The pieces are marked on the underside with an impressed registration mark, the pattern name and trademark that identifies the maker as Grindley, a pottery maker working in Tunstall in the Staffordshire region of England during the 19th century.
Great Condition, Never Used.
