EARLY CHILDS BLACK TRANSFERWARE PLATE

FLOWERS THAT NEVER FADE ~  MEEKNESS

Staffordshire England  ~  c. 1830

This wonderful child's pearlware plate is 6 1/4 " wide and transfer printed in black..
The transfer shows two young maidens in a field with resting sheep.  The poetic moral transfer reads:  

FLOWERS THAT NEVER FADE
    MEEKNESS
In a modest, humble mind, God himself will take delight.
But the proud & haughty find They are hateful in his sight.

Condition is great, very clean and bright.  Never Used.  Small areas of paint skips to the outer rim.
