These are 6 stunning transferware plates dates to 1883.  The large dinner plates are 9 3/4 " in diameter.  The color is a rich wonderful blue .  The pattern is named PALMYRA, featuring a fantastic wide, busy band of sunflowers with a background of geometric shapes.  The well of the platter has a central flower pot full of oversized sunflowers surrounded by rows of buttercups and geometrical flourishes.

The piece is marked on the underside with an impressed registration mark, the pattern name the intials S. H.  that identifies the maker as Sampson Hancock, a pottery maker working in the Staffordshire region of England from 1858-1891.

The piece is in great condition, very clean shiny and bright. There are no chips, no cracks, no hairlines, and no repairs.
