This Victorian 6 " x 6 "tile is transfer printed in brown against an off white background showing good detail and good contrast.

The Aesthetic Movement center tile shows a young woman picking apples or orange. The winsome scene is finely detailed, with two birds sitting on the brick wall behind the tree and a basket of fruit on the ground. It is one of a series of seasonal scenes depicting the 12 months of the year, designed in the 1880s by Helen Miles. The images of the months were produced by Wedgwood in the Staffordshire region of England.

Very good condition, a chip to the top right corner.
